McLean Post 270 got three hits from Nikhil Antil and pulled away late to beat Fairfax 177 15-8 on Monday at Providence Baseball Field #3.

Antil singled in the first and third innings and added a double in the seventh, while Saad Ali put McLean on the board in the top of the first with a double. Fairfax answered in the second when Bruce Bruce Waldschmidt grounded out to tie the game at 1.

McLean took control in the third behind a run-scoring single from Joshua Orr, another RBI single from Colin Adams and a sacrifice fly by Joseph Vargo that brought in two runs. The visitors finished strong in the ninth, when Aidan Ryan reached on a fielder’s choice that still brought in a run, Liam Palacios doubled in two more, an error allowed another run to score and Rhys Jones capped the inning with a sacrifice fly.

Vargo finished with three RBIs for McLean, while Adams, Ali and Jack Kolsky each had multiple hits. McLean also drew 10 walks and stole 10 bases, with Antil and Ryan each logging multiple steals.

Fairfax stayed in the game with production from Grant Reynolds and Brendan Orr, who each drove in two runs, while Jefferson Speakes went 2 for 3 and Bruce Waldschmidt and Speakes each drew two walks. Fairfax also swiped six bases and turned one double play.

Colin Tomasulo earned the win for McLean after allowing no hits and one run over five innings with six strikeouts and four walks. Miles Fitterer started for Fairfax and allowed six hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two, while Charlie Morgan threw an inning of no-run ball for McLean.
