6–7
· Final, 6–7

Fairfax Post 177 held off a late Lorton Post 162 surge and won 7-6 Thursday, getting a big night from Victor Veyan and enough length from Memphis German on the mound to withstand a five-run seventh by Lorton. Veyan drove in three runs and finished 2-for-5, while Jefferson Speakes went 3-for-3 and Baker Morris added two RBI for Fairfax.

Fairfax opened the scoring in the first on a ground out by Victor Veyan, then pushed ahead again in the fourth on Baker Morris’ RBI single. The decisive cushion came in the fifth, when Veyan lined a double that brought in three runs and stretched the lead before Nic Prabhakar doubled home Jefferson Speakes in the sixth to make it 7-0.

Lorton did not break through until the bottom of the sixth, when Gideon Toy singled to score Connor Chan. The home team then loaded its biggest swing of the night into the seventh, scoring five times on five hits. Toy doubled home Chan, Mathias Alden followed with a two-run homer to center, and Talon Camacho singled in Noah Toy before coming home on a pair of errors.

Toy and Camacho each finished with two hits for Lorton, while Chan also had two hits and scored twice. Alden had the home run and drove in two runs, and Zach Suga and Noah Toy both contributed to the game’s late rally. Lorton finished with eight hits and did not commit an error.

German worked six innings for Fairfax, allowing three hits and one run while striking out seven and walking two. Ben Hunter and Grant Reynolds both appeared in relief as Fairfax tried to close it out. Nolan Taylor started for Lorton and allowed five hits and two runs over 4 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking one before Connor Chan and Zach Suga handled the final relief innings.

Fairfax finished with nine hits, led by Speakes’ three-hit night and Veyan’s run production. Lorton’s rally brought the tying run into play late, but Fairfax had already built enough separation to absorb the seventh-inning push and leave with the one-run win.
